Eight More Die of Snake Bite in Nepal
KATHMANDU (July 21) XINHUA - At least eight people have died of snake bite in the past few days in Kailali and Syangja districts, the Kantipur Daily reported Tuesday.
Seven people including children died last Friday in Kailali district, far western Nepal, while one died in Syangja district in the western part of the country, the paper said.
So far about 25 people have succumbed to snake bite in the country during the summer season.
Poisonous snakes like cobra and krait pose a serious
threat to both human being and livestock in the Himalayan
kingdom, especially during the monsoon season which lasts
from June to September.
